Emerge Yourself Day presented by Emp
Ms. Catrona Hill-Charity, Entrepreneurship Instructor, in coordination with Empowered By Emerge Foundation's CEO, Tiffany Boyle, and COO, DaShana Kemp-Garnett, presented Emerge Yourself Day at the Richmond Technical Center. The purpose of this educational endeavor for future entrepreneurs was to enhance the lives of the students by providing educational workshops, and real life activities to help their businesses and entrepreneurship efforts to succeed. To start off the event, guests, students, and staff were served a delicious hot breakfast by Chef Lashawn Winston Mayo's culinary art students with the assistance of Ms. Cheryl Brown. Students were provided the opportunities to learn to produce business podcasts, branding, and they received insights from a panel of entrepreneurs. Also, they received business makeovers from professional stylists such as a barber, hair stylists and makeup artist, who volunteered their time and talents for the event. Moreover, free professional headshots were taken by a professional photographer for each students’ business portfolio . Lastly, students spent the afternoon pitching their businesses to the entrepreneurial panel, similar to Shark Tank as seen on television. Students looked professional from head to toe, and delivered quality presentations. The winners are in the photo above, and will be featured in the next issue of Emerge magazine in September.
